We arrived at the Royal Purnama Hotel around 2am but this didn’t stop the staff from greeting us with the warmest smiles and traditional Balinese hospitality. The welcoming aura of the resort instantly put us at ease forgetting about 27 hours of travel and I knew we were in for a memorable experience. The staff offered us a refreshing tropical drink, setting the tone for the rest of our retreat.

Elegant Accommodations

The resort’s accommodations are nothing short of exquisite. We opted for a two bedroom villa Melati with a private pool enveloped in lush greenery.

The villa boasts a luxurious and spacious layout, perfect for both couples seeking a romantic retreat and families looking to make unforgettable memories.

The interiors are a seamless blend of modern amenities and traditional Balinese touches. From the opulent bed adorned with intricately woven textiles to the gracefully hand-crafted furniture, every detail exuded a sense of understated elegance.

The semi-open air bathroom, featuring a lush garden, a freestanding bathtub, and rain shower, was so perfect to indulge in blissful relaxation while connecting with nature.

And then there was a private pool, nestled amidst tropical gardens, a secluded oasis to unwind and rejuvenate. Paradise!

Serenity by the Indian Ocean

Basking in the sun surrounded by the gentle sound of waves and the rustling of palm leaves was a treat for the senses. My perfect escape from the daily hustle of life.

The Royal Purnama’s famous black sand beach was a perfect way to savor the serenity of Bali’s coastline in complete seclusion immersed in a realm of utter tranquility.

Nourishment for the Soul

No trip to Bali is complete without savoring its culinary delights, and the resort’s Standing Stones restaurant surpassed all expectations.

Each dish was a masterpiece, meticulously prepared with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

We really enjoyed daily dinner specials from satay delights bursting with flavours, sumptuous BBQ to the Asian delight, all accompanied by traditional Balinese performances and live music.

For couples seeking a romantic getaway, the Royal Purnama is an idyllic retreat. With candlelit dinners on the beach and dreamy moonlit strolls, the hotel is an ideal destination for honeymooners and lovers alike.

It also offers intimate rooftop dinners under the stars, picnic, afternoon tea and cooking classes. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side during our stay in Bali and we didn’t get to enjoy these amazing experiences. Well, there is always next time…

Since our stay in Bali was a bit unfortunate with quite a few rainy days – to unwind and rejuvenate – I treated myself to a few spa’s pampering rituals.

At the heart of Balinese spas lies a centuries-old tradition of healing and rejuvenation, rooted in ancient knowledge and infused with spiritual practices. I’m not usually into spa treatments but as you can imagine I was curious to explore the magical world of Balinese spas.

And no disappointment there – from traditional massage therapies to herbal rituals, every treatment is crafted with meticulous care to nurture the senses and restore balance. If you decide to visit Bali you must immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Balinese spas, pure indulgence and rejuvenation. I don’t think I ever felt as relaxed!

A Fitness Oasis

For those seeking to maintain active lifestyle, nestled amidst the lush tropical gardens, is of course the gym. I quite enjoyed my workouts especially that the gym combines modern facilities with a backdrop of serene natural beauty. Great way to stay energized and revitalized during the stay (especially on rainy days).
