Halloween has always been a holiday filled with mystery, magic and superstition, personally my second favourite celebration after Christmas.
What’s not to like about the Halloween celebration, it’s so much fun and mischief and a great excuse to do something different.
You must agree that there is a fair bit of mystery, magic and superstition surrounding the whole concept of Halloween.
We avoid crossing paths with black cats, afraid that they might bring us bad luck and we try not to walk under ladders for the same reason. How about avoiding breaking mirrors, stepping on cracks in the road or spilling salt. The list is endless!
So prepare for a read full of frights with Halloween party essentials including spooky decorations, terrifying props and creepy costumes.

No matter how you choose to celebrate the spooky season this year—be it on Zoom or with a group of your friends in real life—you’re going to need an amazing costume.

Decorations
It is time to whip out your Halloween decorations and create your very own haunted house. My fave place to shop is Amazon with a fantastic range of great value Halloween decorations. These are just a few of my recent purchases.
Devilishly Delicious Cocktails
There are plenty of spooky cocktails you can make to get the evening going with a swing. Serve red-coloured spooky syringes filled with bloody mary, mix your own Halloween punch, add some edible food colouring or glitter and don’t forget the fake eyeballs to float in it.
These are just a few delicious cocktails I’m going to serve at my party this year.
Blood Splattered Appletini
In the mood for something boo-zy? How about a blood splattered appletini?
• 50ml Vodka
• 50ml Green Apple Schnapps or Volare Sour Apple Fruit Liqueur
• Splash of Lemon Juice
• 75ml apple juice
• Garnish with apple slice
• A splash of grenadine
Mix all the ingredients, strain into martini glasses and slowly pour a splash of grenadine into each glass. Order some Halloween cocktails sticks from Amazon for some ‘spookishly’ delicious garnish.
Jekyll & Gin Glowing Cocktail
• 3 oz. Gin
• 1/2 oz. lemon juice
• 1 tsp. grenadine
• 1 handful ice
• tonic water
Mix gin, lemon juice and grenadine in a cocktail shaker; pour into a large glass filled with ice.
Top with tonic water. Garnish with a glow stick (optional).
The Risen from the Grave Martini
• 2 oz. coconut rum (or classic rum)
• 4 oz. pineapple juice
• 1 oz. vodka (vanilla preferably)
• Ice
• 0.5 oz. grenadine (per glass)
• Maraschino cherries, for garnish (optional)
• Pineapple wedge, for garnish (optional
• Edible shimmer dust
• Red sugar
• Cointreau and red sugar to garnish the glass rim
• 1oz – 28ml
Garnish the rim of the glass with Cointreau and red sugar. Pour rum, pineapple juice, vodka, shimmer dust and a few ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and shake until cold. Strain into martini glasses and slowly pour 1/2 ounce of grenadine into each glass.
