“Omnia Omnibus Unbique” – all things for all people everywhere. Harrods own motto
No visit to London is complete without a stop at the world’s most famous department store, Harrods.
If you need some help getting into the Christmas spirit this year, get yourself down to the famous Brompton Road. The luxury department store’s annual festive celebrations are set to be as epic as ever. From the famous windows ruled by a menagerie of animal models, to a giant mistletoe sculpture in the atrium and traditional Christmas fare in Harrods’ famous food hall.
Get into the festive spirit with Tiffany & Co’s dazzling Christmas Tree.
Harrods continues to astonish and intrigue customers from around the world with its sumptuous deco, first-class service and not to mention an unmatched international brand selection.
Did you know that Harrods was first founded in 1849 as a small London shop with just two employees that sold fruit, vegetables, perfume, and medicine?! From humble beginnings to one of the largest and most famous department stores in the world, Harrods has been a luxury shopping destination for more than 160 years.
The store offers a range of customer services, including personal shopping, gift services, tax free shopping and bespoke alterations.
If the shopping gets too much, head to the Champagne Terrace for some relaxing. Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up if you get tired while shopping.
The countdown to the holiday season is in full swing and with it comes the joy of family gatherings and getting together with friends. With the craziness of the festive period it’s so easy to leave the gift shopping to the last few days…and then panic and spend double/triple the amount you planned for just to get what you wanted!
This year, I wanted to put together a few gift ideas I’m currently loving that you can get all in one place, Harrods. With over 330 departments spread across 7 floors dedicated to the finest products in food, fashion, homeware and technology, everyone can find something for themselves and others.
MAKE UP
Nothing gets me more excited for the holiday season than all the adorable make up gifts that are dropping in stores.
With the second phase of the Harrods Beauty Halls’ transformation now finished, a destination dedicated solely to skincare is now open. Located on the Ground Floor, tens of brands have something for every taste.
DR. VRANJES DIFFUSERS
What better gift than a diffuser to add some tranquillity to the home.
My fave and affordable brand Vranjes is celebrating it’s 36th anniversary this year. The iconic bottle, created in 2008 was inspired by Florence by Brunelleschi’s Dome.
DR. Vranjes tips
• On first use it is necessary to let the sticks or reeds soak for an hour and then turn them over.
• To adjust the intensity of the home fragrance, all or part of the sticks / reeds provided must be turned one or more times a day.
• The duration of a fragrance depends on the size of the space in which it is located, the temperature, direct sunlight and air currents that can speed up evaporation.
• Buy a refill of your fragrance and use it to keep the level of the liquid at the recommended height. The amount of oxygen in the bottle will affect the rate of evaporation;
• The diffuser must be positioned in the center of the room so, when people pass by, the air moves and the fragrance circulates. For larger rooms it is advisable to have two positioned on the opposite ends of the room you wish to fragrance.
• Do not place the diffuser on polished, varnished or painted surfaces, on electrical equipment, near / over sources of heat.
• choose the bottle size proportionate to the area you wish to fragrance.
for rooms from 5 to 10 square meters* 1 or 2 250 ml bottles
for rooms from 10 to 20 square meters* 1 or 2 500 ml bottles
for rooms from 20 to 30 square meters* 1 or 2 1250 ml bottles
for rooms from 30 to 50 square meters* 1 or 2 2500 ml bottles
for large rooms over 50 square meters* 1 or 2 5000 ml bottles
CANDLES
Candles are fabulous gifting options this Christmas – particularly as they’re literally the gifts that keep on giving! If you are after something unique and special you can definitely find it at Harrods.
Jo Malone is a perfect mid-price candle brand but I love Diptyque and Roja for that special touch.
My favourite candle, Ralph Lauren Sage (Harrods designed – a blend of herbaceous sage with fruity green fig accord and amber-like fir balsam) is a perfect gift. It’s not available in Harrods anymore but you can buy it here.
FRAGRANCES
Fragrances are one of the easiest, luxurious gifts you can give and receive. They’re affordable and guaranteed to be used. Harrods design itself screams class and luxury.
What I love about Harrods is that they have their own specially designed collaboration brand products that you can only find in the store … like Bvlagri.
WINE
There are four massive (and beautifully decorated) food halls to peruse, including one just for tea, coffee, and chocolates.
I love gifting wine and chocolates and what’s better than Harrods own wine edit!
