Michelin star restaurant, mythical forest, pink lush velvet sofas, combined with the Mayfair postcode makes Sketch one of the quirkiest venues in the London and the place to be!
Sketch is the creation of restaurateur Mourad Mazouz and celebrated chef Pierre Gagnaire. It’s a hub of four separate restaurants, each with their own spectacular design and accompanying menu.
For those days you’re feeling extra fancy, and looking for somewhere fabulous to go, Sketch will fill both your stomach and your Instagram feed rather nicely.
The Lecture Room
The whole room looks like a marvellous sunset and is the home of sketch’s epic eight-course tasting menu – not exactly cheap at £165 per head.
The Parlour
For a more casual (and affordable!) encounter this all-day venue offers breakfasts and lunches all week and a delectable afternoon tea selection. Into the evening the Parlour turns down the lights and focuses on up cocktails and live music, running until 2am.
The Glade
The room looks like a mythical forest, complete with a fluffy carpet designed to look like a forest floor.

Toilets?
Oh yes, it may sound odd but Sketch toilets are extraordinary! They might look like eggs, but these futuristic space pods are in fact fully-functioning loos, and if you find yourself here, tradition dictates you must capture a snap for social media.
The Gallery
Afternoon tea at Sketch is a deeply luxurious affair with an atmosphere of refined indulgence and a fleet of specialists, from your own personal tea master to your caviar man for the afternoon.
I was pleasantly surprised with the selection, quality and quantity of food, from an exquisite array of sweet and savoury treats: delicate slices of cucumber atop soft white bread; brioche buns generously piped with black truffle cream cheese (my favourite); … followed by miniature, blackcurrant meringue kisses and scones heaped with fig jam. And all of these before the cake trolley is wheeled over to your table.
Delicious food is accompanied by a hand-picked selection of Jing teas served in traditional Japanese teapots to keep their heat, and you can switch up your choice as many times as you like.
For celebratory occasions there’s a list of excellent English sparkling wines and signature cocktails – and for the non-drinkers, a brand-new sparkling tea.
The combination of Sketch’s Mayfair setting, the impeccable service and the food, makes this easily one of my top afternoon teas in London.
