Yet again I’m back with more praise for faux fur essentials! These super-luxe options instantly elevate any outfit and prove that faux is better than the real thing. Maybe it’s because increasingly more fashion brands support cruelty-free fashion, or the fact that it’s so dang cute and cozy, but faux fur coats remain one of the most popular winter jacket styles this year.

Cold weather forces us trend-obsessed fashionistas to hide our well-planned outfits under layers of scarves and plain coats. However, there’s nothing like wearing a faux-fur detailed coat outfit. Sure, you could opt for a classic wool trench or even a chic and sporty puffer, but there’s something about wearing this textured staple that is just, to put it simply, fun. They look glamorous yet casual and cool under all circumstances. Win – win!

I’m always a fan of a good classic coat because it pairs beautifully with just about everything, this one from Warehouse is my favourite at the moment. Perfect in every way, I love the colour (obviously my fave black!), the length, and the figure hugging silhouette. Aside from the fact that I love a good black coat in general, this one is super cozy with its faux fur trimmings, and it’s long enough to make you feel like you’re wearing a comfy blanket all whilst looking rather sophisticated and elegant.

HOW TO EMBRACE THE FAUX FUR TREND

Full on Bear

Teddy Bear coats have been a favourite among fashionistas for decades, and this season is no exception. The tricky part is to get the silhouette right. Most faux-fur pieces are oversized, so balance your bottom half with skinny-fit jeans or a pencil skirt and knee-high boots. If you still need convincing about this trend this article should do the trick!

All the trimmings – Baby Steps

If you are used to wearing classic simple coats and are a little unsure when it comes to its faux fur cousins then you should start by taking baby steps. Add a pop of fur in the form of trimmings like I have with this gorgeous coat from Warehouse and then see if you like it and want to take the next step towards the full-on teddy coat style.
